THE POST

I wanted to take a moment to share a personal journey I’ve embarked on since December 1, 2024. For the past few days, I’ve committed to eating only whole foods—100%, no exceptions. This shift came after I received some concerning news about my health: elevated liver enzymes. My wife, Dena’, also wanted to elevate her own health, and together, we decided to take this on as a team.

Let me start by saying this: It’s been hard.

I’ve always eaten clean, around 90% of the time, so I thought making the jump to 100% wouldn’t be too much of a challenge. But let me tell you—it has been. I’ve struggled. There have been moments when I felt sorry for myself, craving the convenience or indulgence of foods outside the “whole” category. Negative self-talk crept in more than once, tempting me to give up.

But here’s the thing: I didn’t.

The truth is, my “why” for doing this isn’t entirely about me. It’s for Dena’. Her desire to level up her health inspired me, and I couldn’t let her do it alone. Sometimes, our biggest motivators come from outside ourselves. We all love the idea of having a strong, internal why—a drive that feels innate and personal. But I’ve learned that when the internal why feels shaky, an external one can pull you through.

This journey has reminded me that no matter how committed or experienced someone seems, making a big change is never easy. We all struggle. And that’s exactly why I’m sharing this with you—not to present myself as someone who has it all figured out, but to show you that if I can push through the tough moments, you can too.

If you’re thinking about making a similar shift, whether for health, a loved one, or a different reason, know that it’s okay to stumble. The key is not letting those stumbles stop you from moving forward.

I’d love to help you on your own journey. If you’ve been considering a change like this and need some encouragement, guidance, or someone to keep you accountable, reach out. I’d be honored to support you.
